Employment Lawyer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join our Employment and Workplace Relations team.

The Role

You will work with a diverse client base – both employers and employees – across sectors including government, building and construction, hospitality, education and professional services. You will advise and represent clients on matters including Award and enterprise agreement compliance; employment contracts; workplace investigations, disciplinary processes and termination; restructure, redundancy and transfer of business; dismissal disputes including breach of contract, unfair dismissal and general protections claims; anti-bullying and anti-discrimination; executive employment and restraints of trade; and organisational policies and procedures. 

Candidate Skills

As an experienced Employment and Workplace Relations lawyer, you would possess:

  • 1 to 3 plus years’ post qualification experience, whether in private practice or in-house

  • A genuine desire to practice and develop skills in employment and workplace relations advisory and litigation work

  • The ability to manage complex litigation files

  • Excellent written communication with the ability to prepare clear, authoritative, and practical advice for a range of clients

  • Analytical mindset and strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Excellent research skills

  • An approach of affording mutual respect to colleagues and clients

  • Experience with LEAP desirable but not essential

  • Experience with workers compensation highly regarded
